If you are into alternative health methods, then you may have heard about the Chinese moxibustion method. However, how does it work?
To enhance the curative effects of needle acupuncture, fire acupuncture is also used. They are both 2 useful methodologies in curing illnesses, and they are frequently used together to enhance the curing of illnesses.
Needless to say, acupuncture Chinese moxibustion refers to curing with fire. And it pretty much refers to the Jiu in Zhen Jiu (the Chinese name for acupuncture).
It is said that the origin of acupuncture and moxibustion started with Fu Xi creation of the therapeutic stone needles, and Huang Di invention of acupuncture and moxibustion. These two are among the many legends about acupuncture and moxibustion.
It is interesting to note that the acupuncture Chinese moxibustion technique actually started with a housewife! She actually found relief for her aching body while cooking at the stove! This time period of the discovery was known as the Eolithic age, and over time, this method was fine tuned with herbal medicines being added to increase its curative effects.
There are 2 common moxibustion methods. They are moxa cone and cupping. The fundamental idea is to use a glass jar to suck the body by putting fire in the jar. As the fire is removed, the glass jar is quickly place over the affected body part so that the jar will suck the body and stimulate blood flow.
This heating forces the air out of the jar and causes a suction vortex causing the jar to stick to the body. Blood is then stimulated and increases in blood flow. This also stimulates the internal organs of the patient. The moxa cone was also used for the same effect.
One of the key factors that decide the efficacy or effectiveness of the acupuncture Chinese moxibustion is the positioning of the thick glass jar. As you probably know, another important factor of acupuncture is the acupuncture points or meridian points of the body. As such, the jar must be placed according to the points whereby the illness is supposed to be healed.
Sometimes, medicinal herbs as well as ginger and mashed garlic are added for the treatment. Typically, the jar will cup the body for about 15 to 20 minutes. Moreover, the treatment has to be conducted over a period of time.
Since the ancient times, the acupuncture Chinese moxibustion technologies have improved. During modern times, potential equipment setup include acupoint injection, acupoint magnetotherapy, electronic needle moxibustion and microwave needle moxibustion.
